PERIODIC FOURTEEN POINT MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
The worlds best post driver Kinghitter fencing, fast, accurate,
neat and solid.
For the long term reliability of your King Hitter postdriver, regular
maintenance is essential.
Periodic regular Maintenance is recommended by Fairbrother Industries
to be carried out on all King Hitter Post drivers after the expired,
equivalent time to your relevant warranty period. i.e. 3 month warranty,
carry out maintenance service every 3 months etc.
Note: Only a Fairbrother Ind. Authorized Service Centre can perform
factory authorized Warranty Service
at no charge. Service carried out within the warranty period must
be performed by an authorized service centre, or the warranty may
be void. This service will not be a FREE Service. Standard Service
Centre Charges will apply to all service.
Once the Product warranty has expired, there is no reason why most
operators cannot carry out in most part, the following common sense
periodic service checks and let your Authorized Service Centre service
those areas you don’t feel so confident in servicing yourself.
Always consult your Operators Manual for safety procedures and
adjustment limits prior to any maintenance.
- 1. Check all Clamps and couplings on Wire Rope.
For looseness or damage, replace all worn or damaged components.
- 2. Wire Rope
Examine wire rope for signs of wear, check for broken of frayed
wires, replace if damaged, adjust wore rope ‘stretch’,
lubricate and test operate.
- 3. Post Cap Wood
Examine for cracks, breakage and general fatigue. Replace if necessary.
- 4. Examine ‘Mast’ for stress fractures and hair-line
cracks.
If any are found, contact Fairbrother Industries or their agent
immediately.
- 5. Generously Lubricate Hammer Slide and Mast.
- 6. General Inspection of machine.
Examine All welds for fractures or cracking. Repair as required.
- 7. Grease all Pivot Pins.
- 8. Lubricate Rock Spike Pivots on Main Swivel.
- 9. Check all Pulleys
They must be spinning freely, any signs of sloppiness, stiff or
rough feeling – Replace.
- 10. Examine Handles on Valve Bank,
If showing signs of wear, or leakage replace. This will stop excess
wear on “Lift-Lower” Handle.
- 11. Examine all Hydraulic Hoses and couplings
for leaks, cracks and damage. Repair or replace
- 12. Examine all Bolts and Pins
for missing, tightness, wear and possible failure.
- 13. Check ‘Safety Hammer Stop Spring’
for correct tension. Replace if not within limits.
- 14. Examine all moving parts for deterioration,
Fair wear and Tear. Repair or Replace as required.
